Welcome! My name is Eric Kingsbury.   If you came here from one of the DIY audio BBS's, I'm Poindexter.   It's a construction jobsite nick, and where it came from, it's not exactly a compliment; so I don't hesitate to use it around here. There are two things going on at dear ol' AudioTropic.  This originally started out as a very small DIY hi-fi webzine, to make available projects by myself and my friends that had turned out successfully.  I learned a lot of what I know about this stuff from reading Sound Practices, Glass Audio, Speaker Builder, and the other print mags, and I miss them, I wish they were still around. In the course of doing this, I have been commissioned to make a few pieces, and my friends and clients have encouraged me to make my gear more widely available to the audiophile community.  I am none loathe to do this, since I am a forty-year maker of musical instruments, aircraft, sailboats, and I have always worked as a professional bespoke craftsman.  As well, in the spirit of the DIY community, every component that I offer in the products section will be fully explained in the projects pages; if you would like to roll your own, I'll help you as much as I can.         Aloha,         Poinz
